Faura is a company I co-founded with Valkyrie Holmes in 2023, originally planned to stop wildfires. Today, we build software that measures the resilience of homes to natural disasters in the United States for homeowners and insurance companies.
At our core is our resilience model: a statistical model unlike anything in the NATCAT modelling space that predicts resilience based on primary and secondary mitigation characteristics. We offer multiple different kinds of assessments and products, all that work with the homeowner to educate them about their risk and help them complete mitigation work to make their homes safer.
Faura was started with 776's Fellowship through Valkyrie, then we raised money from Dorm Room Fund, Metaprop, Triple Five Group, Harlem Capital, Building Ventures, and many more to raise $4+ million and reach hundreds of thousands of homeowners.
We have 10 employees today, all of whom are some of the hardest working people I know and who push me and what we build to be better every day. In no certain order, some of these people are: Valkyrie Holmes, Brenden Corr, Tammy Cho, Tanvi Priyadarshini, Mike Coughlin, Henry Wanjala, Zaki Rangwala, Max Yen.
